Onboarding Checklist

Open in QuickMonitoring→ Sites → [Your Site] → Quickstart

When you log in for the first time, QuickMonitoring runs a short setup flow that learns about your work and configures the platform to match. You end up with a sidebar already tailored to what you actually need — no manual configuration required.

What you'll see​

The onboarding flow runs automatically on first login. It consists of two parts: a questionnaire followed by a personalized feature walkthrough.

Part 1: Questionnaire​

A multi-step form collects information about how you plan to use the platform:

  1. Profile type — select one: Agency, Freelancer, Developer, QA Engineer, Marketing, or Product
  2. Team size — how many people will be using the account
  3. Sites managed — rough number of sites you monitor
  4. Goals — multi-select: catch bugs before users do, monitor uptime, automate QA, track analytics, manage feature flags, run A/B experiments, or other
  5. Tech stack — multi-select: React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, Angular, WordPress, Shopify, or other
  6. Biggest fear — a short free-text or single-choice field about what you most want to prevent (e.g. site going down unnoticed, broken forms reaching users, SEO regressions)
  7. Notification preferences — email, Slack, or both; frequency (immediate, daily digest, or weekly)

Part 2: Personalized recommendations​

After you submit the questionnaire, the recommendation engine scores every feature in the platform against your answers. The top five features most relevant to your profile are shown on screen, each with a short personalized reason explaining why it was recommended for you specifically.

Examples:

  • A QA Engineer who selected "catch bugs before users do" and uses Next.js will see Error Detection, Agent Tests, and GitHub Integration ranked at the top
  • An Agency managing 10+ sites focused on uptime will see Uptime Monitoring, SSL Monitoring, and Webhooks

The five recommended features are automatically pinned to your sidebar via the Feature Library, so they are visible immediately when you open any site.

Part 3: Interactive tooltip walkthrough​

After the recommendation screen, a step-by-step tooltip walkthrough begins. Each step shows a popover tooltip with a spotlight that highlights a real element in the sidebar navigation — the actual button or link you would click to reach that feature.

The walkthrough covers each of your five recommended features in order:

  1. The spotlight points at the sidebar item
  2. The tooltip explains what the feature does and what to try first
  3. You click Next or Skip to advance

You can exit the walkthrough at any time. It does not repeat on subsequent logins, but you can restart it from the Quickstart page in the sidebar.

Pass condition​

✅ You've earned this achievement when you complete the onboarding questionnaire and the recommendation screen loads with your top five suggested features.

Common issues​

  • Questionnaire did not appear on first login — If you were invited to join an existing organization, the questionnaire may have been skipped. You can access the full feature list from the Quickstart page in the site sidebar and browse features manually.

  • Recommended features do not match your needs — The recommendations are based solely on your questionnaire answers. You can adjust your pins at any time through the Feature Library (click the library icon in the sidebar) without re-running the questionnaire.

  • Tooltip walkthrough is pointing at the wrong element — The walkthrough uses live sidebar elements. If the sidebar is collapsed or a feature is not yet available (e.g. because no scan has been run), the spotlight may not align correctly. Expand the sidebar and run an initial scan, then restart the walkthrough from the Quickstart page.

  • Walkthrough does not restart from Quickstart — Clear your browser's local storage for app.quickmonitoring.com and reload the page, or contact support to reset the onboarding state for your account.
