Link Validation
QuickMonitoring maps the full link graph of your site — every internal and external link, every anchor, every redirect chain. Each link is tested for reachability and response time. Broken links (404s, timeouts, redirect loops) are flagged with their source page so you know exactly where to fix them.
What you'll see
Go to Sites → your site → Links (sidebar).
A table of all discovered links with:
- URL — the destination URL
- Source page — which page links to it
- HTTP status — 200, 301, 404, timeout, etc.
- Response time — how long the link took to respond
- Status label — OK / Broken / Redirect / Timeout
Filter by "Broken" to get a focused list of 404s and failures. This is the list to fix before launch.
How to use it
- Run a scan
- Go to Sites → your site → Links (sidebar)
- Filter by "Broken" to see only 404s and timeouts
- Click any broken link to see which pages link to it
- Go fix the links in your CMS or codebase, then re-run the scan to confirm
For large sites, export the broken links list and prioritize by how many pages link to each broken URL — high link count means higher user impact.

✅ You've earned this achievement when the Links section shows a list of discovered links with status codes.
Common issues
-
External links showing 403 — Some external sites block crawlers. The link itself isn't broken — the target site is refusing the bot. Check the URL manually in a browser. If it loads for humans, safe to ignore the 403 in the report.
-
Redirect chains (301 → 301 → 301) — Each redirect adds latency. Three or more hops is worth collapsing. Update the source link to point directly to the final destination URL, or fix the redirect chain so it goes A → C rather than A → B → C.
-
Anchor links showing as broken — If a link points to
#section-idand that ID doesn't exist on the target page, it's a broken anchor. The page loads, but the user lands at the top instead of the intended section. These are genuine bugs — check that the target ID exists. -
Timeouts on external links — The linked site may be slow or unreliable. The scanner has a timeout threshold. If an external resource consistently times out, it's worth replacing the link or removing it.
